How to Unblock a Contact on Skype

By Leonardo R. Grabkowski

Skype lets you instant message and make calls to friends and family. There may come a time when you want to block one of your contacts, perhaps due to a dispute or any other reason. Blocking a contact is not permanent. If you decide you don't want the contact blocked anymore, you can remove him from your blocked list. Once removed from the list, the contact will be able to message and call you.

Step 1

Open Skype and log in to your account. Click "Tools" on the top-navigation bar.

Step 2

Select "Options" from the list, then select "Privacy."

Step 3

Select "Blocked Contacts" from the Privacy menu. On the right-side bar, select the contact you want to unblock. Click "Unblock This Person" to remove the contact from the blocked list.

Step 4

Click "Save" to finalize the changes. The person is now unblocked.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you decide you want to block the contact again, simply right-click her screen name under "Contacts" and click "Block This Person."
