How to Uninstall Babylon

By James B. Jones

Babylon is a translation program that can translate words, phrases and entire paragraphs in seconds. It can also leave you with an extra toolbar, the Babylon Toolbar, in your Internet browser that isn't removed when you uninstall the program. Just like the program, the toolbar can also be removed through the Windows utility to uninstall programs.

Uninstall Babylon Translation Software

Step 1

Exit out of the Babylon program by right-clicking the Babylon icon in the system tray of your taskbar, and clicking "Exit." Click "Yes" to confirm your decision.

Step 2

Click the Windows "Start" menu, select "Control Panel" and choose "Uninstall a Program" under the Programs section.

Step 3

Select "Babylon" from the list of currently installed programs and choose "Uninstall." This will remove the program from the computer. If you want to remove the toolbar, there should be a separate item in the list called "Babylon Toolbar" or "Babylon Bar." Select that and click "Uninstall."

Step 4

Delete the "Babylon" folder in the Program Files directory.

Tips & Warnings

  • When deleting Babylon, ensure that you do not delete any unrelated but vital files or you risk compromising your computer's performance.
