When a program is installed in the Windows operating system, an uninstall file will typically accompany the software. This executable file is linked with a program removal component located in the Windows Control Panel. If you want to uninstall a program from your computer, you can access this component from the Windows Start menu.
Click the Windows “Start” button.
Type “uninstall a program” into the “Search Programs and Files” field, then press Enter. This opens the main Windows component used to uninstall programs from your computer. The software listed in this Window is organized alphabetically.
Right-click on the program in the list, then click “Uninstall.” Click “Yes” when presented with an “Are you Sure…?” prompt. This will start the removal process. The removal process is usually automated, although some programs may require you to click through an additional series of windows to remove the application.
