How to Uninstall Internet Explorer 8 in Windows 7

Internet Explorer 8 came with Windows 7. It has since been surpassed by a newer version. If you want to remove Internet Explorer 8 from your computer for that reason or because you use a different Internet browser, doing so can free up space on your hard disk.

Step

Click "Start" and then "Control Panel."

Step

Click "Programs." Then, under Programs and Features, click "Turn Windows Features on or off." Windows 7 will take a few seconds to populate a list of features on your computer.

Step

Click to remove the check mark next to "Internet Explorer 8." Click "OK."

Step

Restart your computer. Once the restart is complete, you've successfully uninstalled Internet Explorer 8 from Windows 7.
