How to Uninstall Internet Explorer 8 in Windows 7
Internet Explorer 8 came with Windows 7. It has since been surpassed by a newer version. If you want to remove Internet Explorer 8 from your computer for that reason or because you use a different Internet browser, doing so can free up space on your hard disk.
Click "Start" and then "Control Panel."
Click "Programs." Then, under Programs and Features, click "Turn Windows Features on or off." Windows 7 will take a few seconds to populate a list of features on your computer.
Click to remove the check mark next to "Internet Explorer 8." Click "OK."
Restart your computer. Once the restart is complete, you've successfully uninstalled Internet Explorer 8 from Windows 7.
Tips & Warnings
- If you change your mind and decide you want IE8 back on your computer, simply go back to Windows Features and re-enable Internet Explorer 8 by selecting the check box and clicking "OK." This will also require a restart.
