How to Uninstall Silverlight

By Tim Mammadov

Microsoft Silverlight is a set of applications for Web browsers that allows display and playback of digital media, graphics and animation, which makes Silverlight similar to Adobe Flash. You install Silverlight once so that the required content can run in any supported browser instead of dowloading the software for each separate browser. However, you might want to uninstall Silverlight if it slows down your Web browser or if you are about to install a new version of it.

Step 1

Go to the "Start" menu and select "Control Panel."

Step 2

Double click the "Add/Remove Programs" icon or click "Uninstall a program" under "Programs."

Step 3

Scroll through the list of installed programs and select "Microsoft Silverlight."

Step 4

Click "Remove" or "Uninstall" and follow the step-by-step prompts of the installation wizard to uninstall Silverlight from your computer.
