How to Unlock Panasonic DVD Players by Using the Remote

By Marshal M. Rosenthal

Panasonic DVD players are unable to play commercial DVDs that are manufactured in a different part of the world than where the Panasonic was purchased. To play any commercial DVD, unlock the Panasonic player using a Philips Universal DVD remote (this will also work with any universal remote that is able to be programmed to duplicate command codes issued by a Panasonic DVD remote). The Philips Universal DVD remote can be purchased from an electronics store or drugstore and, unlike the one that comes with the Panasonic, has built-in codes that will activate a menu to unlock the Panasonic. None of the features of the Panasonic DVD player will be adversely affected by unlocking it, nor will the Philips Universal DVD remote keep the owner from using the Panasonic remote once the unlocking is completed.
