How to Upgrade to the Latest Version of Internet Explorer

By James Wright

Internet Explorer is the Web browser that comes preinstalled on Microsoft's Windows operating systems. The version of Internet Explorer that's preinstalled on your computer depends on which operating system you're using. Microsoft frequently updates Internet Explorer, but sometimes the company releases a completely new version with new features. Regardless of the operating system you're using, upgrading to the latest version of Internet Explorer is a relatively simple task.

Step 1

Open a Web browser (any browser is fine) and go to Microsoft Internet Explorer's home page.

Step 2

Click the link to download Internet Explorer, and save the installation file to your desktop. Wait for the download to complete, then close your browser.

Step 3

Double-click the installation file to start the installation process. You will be taken through the installation process and may be asked to set a few custom settings.

Step 4

Restart your computer to complete the installation process. You now have the latest version of Internet Explorer.
