How to Upload Videos to a Friend's Wall in Facebook

By Brandy Alexander

Using Facebook, a highly used social website, you can leave messages for a friend by writing on her “wall.” This “wall” is a portion of the person's profile page that displays any notes from people that have dropped by. You can also add videos for your friend so that he can easily view them inside his own page. With a video file link and your Facebook account, you can quickly upload a video to your own friend's wall to create a more eye-catching note.

Things You'll Need

  • Web host (optional)
  • Video file URL
  • Facebook account

Step 1

Place your video file on your Web host and make a note of this location. Alternately, if you have a file URL from a video sharing site, such as Google Videos or YouTube, you do not need to perform this step.

Step 2

Log in to your Facebook account and click the “Friends” link at the top to navigate to the preferred member page.

Step 3

Click the “Wall” tab and then click the “Video” icon next to the “Attach” title.

Step 4

Paste your file address in the text box provided and then click the “X” underneath to close the video box. A preview box automatically appears below and shows you a thumbnail of the video along with the title, link and any description.

Step 5

Click the “Share” button to upload the video to your friend's wall.
