How to Use Java-Based Sites on the iPhone

By Matt McGew

Java is a computer software platform and program language developed by Sun Microsystems. Many websites have java components that you can view only with a web browser that supports a Java plug-in. Unfortunately, the iPhone's Safari web browser does not support Java. To view Java-based websites on your iPhone, you need to download and install the Cloud Browser. Cloud Browser is a free application that is available from Apple's App Store. With the Cloud Browser, you can view and use Java-based websites on your iPhone.

Things You'll Need

  • iPhone
  • Cellular data or Wi-Fi connection

Step 1

Tap the "App Store" icon on your iPhone's screen and then press the "Search" option.

Step 2

Type "Cloud Browser" in the search bar and then press the blue "Find" button.

Step 3

Select the "Cloud Browse" application. Press the blue "Free" icon and then tap the green "Install" icon.

Step 4

Wait while the iPhone installs the Cloud Browser application. When the installation is complete, you will find a Cloud Browser icon on your iPhone's screen.

Step 5

Tap the "Cloud Browser" icon. Enter the full Java-based website you want to visit in the Cloud Browse search bar. Press the blue "Go" icon. The Cloud Browser application will open the Java-based website. You can fully use and interact with any Java website component through the Cloud Browser application.
