How to Use the Backup Assistant Tool For Verizon Cell Phones

By Ariana Cherry-Shearer

The Backup Assistant tool for Verizon cell phones is a very useful program that allows cell phone users to save a copy of their address book with all of their important contacts. If for some reason you lose your phone, or it becomes damaged, you still have all of your contacts safely stored without the worry of losing them.

Step 1

Turn on your cell phone, and find the "Get It Now" program on your cell phone. Select the "Get Going" sub-category and click on the "Backup" tool to download and install it on your phone.

Step 2

Create an account that will be associated with your cell phone number. It will then ask you for a 4-digit pin number. This information will be used to gain access to your address book. Verify your phone number, and be sure to keep this in a safe place so that you will remember it for your next use.

Step 3

Choose "Next" once your registration has been completed for the Backup Assistant tool. The Backup Assistant will then store all of your current contacts and make any changes during your updates. You can select a regular time period for when you would like the Backup assistant to update your contact list.

Step 4

Access your backed up address book online and on your phone as well. Anytime that you lose your phone or it has been damaged, this feature will allow you to save all of your contacts. By logging in with your phone and pin number, your contacts can be restored back to your new or original cell phone.

Tips & Warnings

  • Schedule automatic backups of your contacts so that your list stays updated and you'll always be protected.
