Instructions for an iHome Alarm

By Bryan Lutz

The iHome is a multi-function home audio system that allows you to play music directly from your iPod through its iPod dock system. The iHome has an alarm setting that wakes you up with your favorite song, radio station or generic alarm tone, and can also have two separate alarms set in case you're worried about sleeping through it the first time around. Setting the iHome alarm has a simple interface and is no harder to set than a traditional alarm clock.

Step 1

Press and hold the "Alarm 1" or "Alarm 2" button found on the top of the iHome above the LCD until the time begins to flash.

Step 2

Press the "+" or "-" button until you have set the alarm to the time you want. Press the "+" or "-" button through the hours until you see the desired AM or PM setting to the left of the alarm time.

Step 3

Press the "Alarm" button again and press the "+" or "-" button to choose the alarm frequency. A frequency of "7" means it will go off every day at the desired time; "5" means it will go off only during the week, and "2" will set the alarm to go off only on the weekends.

Step 4

Press the "Alarm" button again to choose the alarm sound source. You can choose from iPod, Radio, Buzzer, or Playlist. For the Playlist setting, you must create a playlist for the iHome on your iPod beforehand.

Step 5

Press the "Alarm" button again to finalize the alarm and exit out of the alarm setting mode.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you choose to have the radio sound for your alarm, use the "+" or "-" buttons to choose which AM or FM frequency you wish the alarm to tune to.
