My Acer Laptop Won't Boot

By TS Jordan

Acer laptops ship with Windows-based operating systems. An Acer laptop that refuses to boot telegraphs an issue with the boot files relating to the operating system on the hard drive. This is a problem caused by user error through accidental file deletion, malware corruption or partial hardware failure. Restore your computer with the tools in your operating system.

Things You'll Need

  • Windows disc

Step 1

Insert the Windows disc into the Acer laptop.

Step 2

Restart the laptop. Press any key when signaled to boot from disc.

Step 3

Select your keyboard, language and currency type from the onscreen menus.

Step 4

Click "Repair your computer." Choose the drive containing the operating system and press "Next" to restore your boot issue.
