There are a variety of problems that you can experience with a Norstar phone system, such as the system not receiving power or a dead phone line. Depending on the specific glitch you face, there may be ways to fix the problem on your own. But if the problem is with your carrier, you must depend on them to resolve it.

Check that the system is receiving power. Locate the power cord on the back of the device and check the socket it is plugged in to. If it is plugged in but the system is not receiving power, check with whoever is in charge of the building's power.
Reboot the system. Unplug the main power cord from the socket for at least thirty seconds, then plug it back in. It should take the system about five minutes to fully boot back up.
Dial a number and see if the calls go through. If you do not hear anything, there could be a problem either with the system or the carrier. If you hear a pre-recorded message, there is a problem with the carrier. Contact the carrier and report the problem.
