Reset Procedures for an iLok
An iLok is a USB smart key device designed to store licenses for iLok-protected software--up to 118 on the Original iLok and 500 on the second-generation iLok. When you open iLok-protected software, the device provides the license authorization.
iLok Hardware Security
The iLok offers an optional password protection feature to prevent unauthorized use of the device. A person typically resets this feature when an error occurs or when a new password is needed.
iLok Password Reset
Plug your iLok, or attached iLok USB cable extender, into the computer USB port and open your iLok-protected software. As the software opens, press “Ctrl,” “Shift” and “W” at the same time to bring up the Password Management screen. Disable the password option by entering your old password without entering a new password; or enter your new password.
The iLock password reset only works if you can remember your password. If you can’t remember your password, you will need to follow the instructions on the “iLok ZDT & RMA Submission” website to return your iLok to PACE for iLok reset and license recovery or complete device replacement.
