Verizon FIOS Router Login Help

Logging into your Verizon FiOS cable Internet router provides access to the device’s administrative settings so that you can configure and secure your home network. Access and log into the router by opening the device’s Web-based utility in your Web browser.

Router Connection

To access the Verizon FiOS router, you must use a computer or mobile device connected directly to the router’s network, either wirelessly or via a LAN Ethernet cable connection. You won’t be able to access or log into the router if you use a computer or device that isn’t connected to the router. Type the URL address “” into the Web browser’s address bar, and then press “Enter” to go to the router’s login screen.

Router Login

The Verizon FiOS router requires users to log in before making changes to the device’s network and security settings. The router prompted you to set a login username and password when you first setup the device, so type these login details into the input boxes. If you haven’t previously set a username and password, use the default login details. Verizon says the default login varies depending on the router, so check the help documentation that came with the device or, if you can’t find this, go to (see Resources) and select your router to find the default user name and password.

Forgotten Login

If you have set a custom username and password, but can’t remember the details, you won’t be able to use the default username and password, because setting a custom login replaces the default settings. Work around this by carrying out a factory reset, which rolls back the router to its default settings and default login. The factory reset will also wipe all your preferences and settings, so you might need to reconfigure your router after resetting the device. To perform a factory reset, push and hold down the "Reset" button on the back panel of the router until the router powers down. After the router has powered up again, log in with the default username and password.

After logging into the router, always set a custom username and password as a security measure. Leaving the default login in place might seem tempting if you don’t want to have to remember yet another password, but it can make your FiOS router vulnerable to unauthorized access. Implementing a secure, custom login is a useful way to deter other network users from accessing the router and changing its settings without your permission. If you’ve carried out a factory reset or you’re accessing the router for the first time, set a custom username and password from the on-screen prompt.
