PROS

  • Stability and durability are excellent. Although unusually shaped, these in-ear headphones are unlikely to fall off during a run, and they should last a long time.
  • Built-in controls include a multitasking play/pause/skip button in addition to individual volume buttons on the outer edge.
  • Battery life for both streaming and talk time amounts to seven hours at half volume, which is above average for wireless headphones.

CONS

  • Denon's AH-W150 Exercise Freak is relatively expensive for headphones in the fitness and sports category.
  • While these in-ear headphones are sweatproof and impact-resistant, they're not waterproof. Don't wear them into the swimming pool.
  • Exercise Freak lets in some ambient noise, but that's a good thing for safety if you plan on wearing them for outdoor activities.
Exercise Freak might look like a pair of jumbo hearing aids, but it's actually regarded as one of the best Bluetooth headphones around, suited to the gym and outdoor workouts as well as to everyday use. These brightly colored, lightweight in-ear headphones rest on the outer edge of your ear, with the actual ear tips sitting in the ear canal. Most folks find the sound to be crisp and clear, with ample bass. Audio quality varies, however, according to the shape of your ear. Exercise Freak comes with handy built-in controls, along with a decent microphone for cellphone calls.
