A solid product. Despite some flaws, it's still a good value.

PROS

  • The Forerunner works as both as a GPS watch and a pedometer, but it remains affordable.
  • The watch offers good battery life, lasting up to five weeks with average use and eight hours while GPS is enabled.
  • The watch is well designed and easy to use.

CONS

  • The Forerunner 15 does not include Bluetooth, so it must be connected to a computer manually.
  • It looks more like a running watch than a fitness tracker, so it may not go with all outfits.
  • It does not include a built-in heart rate monitor.
Runners who are looking for a wearable that does more than simply track steps but doesn’t cost as much as a high-end running watch should take a look at Garmin’s Forerunner 15. Billed as an easy-to-use GPS watch for runners, the Forerunner 15 offers plenty that will appeal to runners who want a device that can track the time, distance, and pace of their workouts. It also works as a basic fitness tracker, counting steps throughout the day and reminding you to move when you’ve been idle too long. An optional heart rate monitor is available for the Forerunner 15.

Thus, if you’re looking for an entry level GPS running watch that can also be used as an activity monitor this is the best one on the market today (albeit, it’s the only one on the market today). And if you’re looking for an entry level running watch (and don’t care about the activity tracker piece), then this is still a very solid choice and would be among my top recommendations.
