Clearly above average. Only a couple of issues keep this from being best in class.

PROS

  • These in-ear headphones feel lightweight and comfy, adding up to a great fit for long periods.
  • Overall sound quality is solid, and the M100s produce balanced sound, with particularly crisp highs.
  • The build is impressive and the unit's "race-track” beveled edge has visual appeal for lots of folks.

CONS

  • Bass fans might find that it'll take some burn-in time before the bass response meets your standards; and even then, the bass output may not be enough for you.
  • During uber-vigorous workouts, the M100s may loosen a little.
  • The headphones show scuffs and signs of wear easily.
Cool and stylish, four color options are up for grabs from this British brand: blue, orange, titanium gray, and gold. KEF integrates 10 mm neodymium drivers and a unique angled chamber to bring you sounds that are rich in detail with minimal distortion. The M100s come with an inline remote and microphone, and they were designed primarily to work with iOS devices. The unit works with other platforms, but with limited functionality. The accessories include small, medium, and large ear tips, and you can expect a super-comfy fit. The bundle also includes a carry pouch and airplane adapter. KEF touts its environmentally friendly manufacturing process by highlighting the non-toxic adhesive in its 10 mm drivers.

Able to thrash out snares, cymbals and perfectly portray vocals in equal measure, the KEFs are crisp and accurate. And, when combined with relatively snug-fitting ear pieces, they’re great at drowning out the usual sounds of the commute.

It took a good couple of weeks before we felt the M100s were run in properly and the main area we saw improvement was the low end. Bass sounded quite frankly poor to start with but does come alive over time. That said, we don’t think the M100s are the best for all you bass addicts out there.
