Clearly above average. Only a couple of issues keep this from being best in class.

PROS

  • The Moov Now is smaller and sleeker than the original Moov, and it is comfortable to wear on the wrist or ankle.
  • The battery lasts up to six months with no recharging necessary, and the Moov Now is waterproof.
  • The Moov apps have been combined, and now their features are available in one app that offers coaching for multiple activities.

CONS

  • Moov's workouts and coaching require that you have your smartphone on hand during your workout.
  • The Moov Now's all-day tracking features are basic compared to those of its rivals.
  • It lacks a heart rate monitor.
The Moov Now is Moov's second-generation fitness tracker, and it takes a lot of what was great about the first version and makes it even better. It still offers coaching and feedback on your workouts and form, but doesn't require you to open multiple apps to do so. It still can be worn around your wrist or ankle, but it is smaller and more comfortable than its predecessor when you do so. It's added all-day fitness tracking and sleep tracking features for those users who can't bear to take it off during the day--or night.

I’ve been wearing the Moov Now on my wrist for a few weeks now and, although I’m no athlete, I’ve found its mix of tracking, audio coaching and sleep monitoring much more helpful than the usual pedometer or smartwatch-based approach to activity tracking.

This is the first time in a while that I've been so impressed by a wearable – be that a smartwatch or fitness tracker.
