PROS

  • The design Samsung went with for the S6 is beautiful and unlike anything we've seen from the company.
  • The camera is once again a standout feature, offering consistent performance and stunning shots.
  • The improved fingerprint scanner offers near immediate recognition, increasing security and usability.

CONS

  • Battery life leaves a lot to be desired, which is a black mark on Samsung's decision to do away with a removable battery.
  • The lack of a microSD slot, removable battery, and waterproofing--all of which were on the Galaxy S5--is going to leave some users wanting more.
  • Despite removing a lot of TouchWiz features, there's still too much going on at times. Samsung has more cleaning up to do.
Samsung changed its approach toward its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6, by ditching the cheap, plastic backing, removable battery and microSD slot. With the addition of an upgraded camera, a vibrant screen, and a revamped fingerprint sensor, you might have the best Android device on the market.

Calling it "perfect" would be irresponsible and inaccurate, but the S6 is the closest Samsung has come in a long time.

That glass back can be pretty slippery! The second you try to hold the S6 in any sort of open-handed way—which is to say just letting it lay on your hand without exerting pressure on the sides—it’ll slowly slip until you (hopefully!) catch it on the protruding camera.

Upgraders from the Galaxy S5 will find a lot to complain about, though. The Galaxy S6 is aimed more at the mainstream phone market and less at the power user, so the S6 cuts the MicroSD slot, removable battery, water resistance, and Micro USB 3.0 port.

The update to 5.1.1 saved this phone from being returned
I purchased this phone in February through AT&T. I was pretty unhappy with it until the recent update to 5.1.1. I am not sure that it was the system so much as it was the TouchWiz interface that was the problem. The phone would freeze all of the time and just seemed to be doing too much. It was pretty frustrating because at time you could not answer the phone, make calls, or even access the phone beyond the security screen. Once the update was pushed out by AT&T, I was unable to get it to install. I had to reset the phone to factory, erasing all of the data and settings. After that I was able to update the phone and all has been well since then. All of the previous and additional apps have been installed since then w/o problems. The phone responds quickly now and I no longer feel like I got scammed for buying this phone. Great display, great camera, and I still feel like I need to learn how to use the multitasking, Samsung/Android Pay, and a few other features that I know are available but haven't used yet. I do like the phone and would buy it again.
