Clearly above average. Only a couple of issues keep this from being best in class.

  • It comes with a fast autofocus zoom and a tilting rear display to frame shots.
  • You can shoot incredible 960 fps or 1/40th speed slow motion video.

  • An external battery charger is not included.
  • The camera is pricey, especially compared with the earlier RX I0.
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 II is a bridge camera with characteristics of a DSLR and some of a point-and-shoot. The fixed ZEISS Vario-Sonnar 8.8-73.3 mm lens (24-200 35 mm equivalent) focuses down to 3 centimeters for macro images. A new 1-inch 20.2-megapixel stacked sensor has memory built into the chip for up to a 5x increase in transfer speed. This new sensor enables the DSC-RX10 II shoot up to 1/32,000th of a second--yes, you read that correctly--and an amazing 960 frames per second slow motion. Connect the camera using Wi-Fi or NFC to remotely view, control, and copy images and videos to your mobile device with a free iOS or Android app. The RX10 II supports Sony’s own Memory sticks or SD cards.
