- Noise levels are relatively low during printing.
CONS
- It lacks an auto calibration feature. Calibration on the Ultimaker 2+ must be performed manually.
- There's no wireless or USB connection for direct printing from a computer; printing is supported via SD card only.
- Though it's $500 cheaper than the older Ultimaker 2, it's still expensive.

The really exciting changes are found on the back of the machine. The new feeder improves grip and provides more torque to push the filament through the Bowden tube. Removing or manually feeding filament is no longer an issue either — a grip-release button allows the user to hand feed or pull out the filament without the need for the motor.
