Apple Announced Hundreds of New Emoji Coming to iPhone and iPad

Hundreds of new emoji are finally making their way to your iPhones and iPads with iOS 11.1. Apple announced the highly anticipated new roster on Friday, including some exciting new additions, like emotive smiley faces, gender-neutral characters, clothing options, food types, animals, mythical creatures and more.

Also included in the update is the Love-You Gesture, which is designed after the "I love you" hand sign in American Sign Language.


As Apple noted, the new emoji are designed to "reveal every detail and adapted from approved characters in Unicode 10. iOS 11.1."

iOS 11.1 will also feature the slew of emoji announced on World Emoji Day, which include Woman with Headscarf, Breastfeeding mom, Bearded guy, a Zombie, Person in Lotus Position, Mind Blown, a Sandwich, a Zebra, a T-Rex, and many more.
