Apple Unveils New Red iPhone to Raise Money for HIV/AIDS Research

If you're looking to add a little color to your digital life, Apple's new red-colored iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus might be right up your alley. The special edition iPhones are part of (PRODUCT)RED, a program that gives a percentage of every sale directly to The Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDS.

This is the second year in a row Apple has rolled out a shiny, red version of its latest iPhone. The company has raised over $160 million for the initiative, $30 million of which was added last year after the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus launch.

Nothing has changed with the phone except the red finish. The price remains same as the gold, grey, and silver versions starting at $699 for the iPhone 8 and $799 for the Plus.

There isn't an option to buy a red iPhone X, so if you want to support the cause, but also want an X, you can purchase Apple's new (PRODUCT)RED iPhone X Leather Folio for $99.

The special edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone is available for pre-order now, and will be available in stores beginning Friday, April 13th.
