It certainly is A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood, as Sony Pictures has dropped the first trailer for the upcoming Fred Rogers biopic.
Directed by Marielle Heller, the film stars Tom Hanks as the iconic television personality. The film is based on the real-life relationship between Rogers and Tom Junod, a journalist who wrote a profile on him for Esquire magazine.
The trailer shows Hanks singing 'Won't You Be My Neighbor?' while changing into one of Rogers' signature sweaters and a pair of sneakers. The film also features recognizable set pieces from Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, as well as some familiar puppet faces such as Daniel Striped Tiger and King Friday XIII.
Hanks is joined by Matthew Rhys, who plays Lloyd Vogel, a cynical journalist based on Junod.
So now the only question left is, won't you be his neighbor?
