Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Cats opened on Broadway in 1982. It ran for 18 years, and now it's a movie.

Based on Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot, the movie seems to stay pretty true to the musical, in that all the cats are played by humans. The cast members have CGI-enhanced fur to make them look as cat-like as possible (for being humans), and while it's a little creepy, it works.

The cats dance their way through extremely large furniture, you know, because cats are small. For anyone who isn't a fan of the musical, the trailer might be on the weird side, but for fans, it's everything they hoped for. The music will open the nostalgia floodgates.

The all-star cast is very impressive, which includes Taylor Swift, James Corden, Jennifer Hudson, Judi Dench, Idris Elba, Rebel Wilson, and Jason Derulo.

Here's the trailer:

Cats will hit theaters on December 20th.
