Spotify's Premium Family Plan Will Soon Let Parents Block Explicit Content

Spotify is updating its Premium Family plan with better parental controls. The company announced a new Explicit Content Filter, which gives parents the ability to block songs and podcasts with bad words and inappropriate content.

Even though Spotify's Premium Family plan has been around for years, it hasn't included a way for parents to control the content their kids are listening to until now. The company admits that "these parental controls are a long-requested feature." Duh.

In addition to the new parental controls, the company is also adding a few other features to the Premium Family plan, including Family Mix, which is a playlist "the whole family enjoys." It's basically a way for families to share their favorite songs with each other.

If you're already a Premium Family plan subscriber, expect an email when the update becomes available this fall.
