You can change your account password without needing to reset it. To keep your Facebook account secure, change your account password frequently, pick a secure password and don't use your Facebook password for any other websites. Vary the characters in your password, and include numbers, letters and symbols.

Log in to Facebook.

Step 2

Click the downward-pointing arrow at the top right of the screen.

Select "Account Settings" from the menu that appears.

Step 4

Click "Edit" next to "Password" on the "General Account Settings" page.

Step 5

Enter your old password in the top box labeled "Current."

Enter the new password in the remaining two boxes.

Step 7

Click "Save Changes" to have your new password settings take effect. Next time you log in you must use the new password.

Passwords are case sensitive and Facebook passwords must be at least six characters long.
