Creating a secret email address is fairly simple.

The Web provides a great place to communicate to a wide range of people. It's also a great place to lose your identity and become incognito. You can easily create a different persona with a secret email address by creating an account at one of the Web's popular email services. It takes only a few minutes to set up a secret email address.

Step 1

Open your web browser and go to a site such as Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, AOL or Hotmail, all of which provide free email services.

Step 2

Type in fake identification information such as name, gender, birthday and country. Remember to make this information significantly different than your real information. For instance, if your name is John Jackson, do not make your name Jon Johnson.

Step 3

Create an email address that is incognito. For instance, if your are on Yahoo! mail, you can make an email address that says "secret@yahoo.com."

Step 4

Choose a password that you will remember. Some sites ask your to repeat typing in your password.

Step 5

Enter the answers to secret questions. These become hints for when you forget your password.

Step 6

Hit the activation button. On Gmail, the button says "I accept. Create my account." You may be asked to agree to terms of service.
