How to Do a System Recovery on an HP Pavilion 500
Perform a system recovery on your HP Pavilion 500 to resolve issues stemming from a virus infection, hard drive crash or critical system error. The computer comes equipped with the HP Recovery Manager to assist you in performing the recovery process without having to use technical repair services. Resort to system recovery only as a last ditch effort, as the process erases all the files saved to your hard drive.
Remove any external devices attached to the HP Pavilion, such as any printers, scanners, smartphones or portable media players.
Restart the computer.
Press the "F11" key once your computer turns back on to access the HP Recovery Manager.
Click the "System Recovery" option in the window that appears, and close the "Microsoft System Restore" window that appears.
Click "Next" in the System Recovery window to initiate the recovery process. The recovery utility reformats the hard drive and returns the software to the original operating condition.
