How to Get Lots of Bing Credits

By Steven Melendez

You can earn points from Microsoft's Bing search engine and trade them in for gift cards, sweepstakes entries and other rewards.

Microsoft's Bing search engine offers Bing Rewards credits you can redeem for rewards like gift cards and sweepstakes entries. After you set up an account, you earn points by searching with Bing on your phone and computer. You can also get points by participating in loyalty programs, through special offers on the Bing website and by referring friends to the Bing Rewards program.

Make Sure You're Signed In

Log in to Bing so that Microsoft knows whom to award the credits to.

You can always visit the Bing Rewards Dashboard to make sure you're properly signed in and that you're earning the credits you expect to be earning.

If you have a Bing account and you're logged in, you should see your name and the number of credits you've earned so far. If you see a "Sign In" button instead of your name, click to log in with your username and password so you can start earning rewards. You can visit the dashboard and sign in on any smartphone, tablet or computer you're using to earn points.

If you don't yet have a Bing Rewards account, visit the introductory page and click the "Try It Now, Free" button to set up an account and start earning credits.

Earn While You Search

You can earn up to 15 credits per day by searching with Bing on your computer and up to 10 per day by searching on your mobile device.

After making sure you're signed in to your account, visit Bing's homepage when you need to search the Web and earn one point for every two searches on your computer or smartphone, up to the daily limits.

Check for Special Offers

Select offers to earn extra points

Microsoft often posts special offers on the Bing Rewards Dashboard that let you earn extra points for things like answering trivia questions, installing Bing browser extensions and reading promotional materials for Microsoft products and current movies.

Visit the dashboard often to click on any offers you might want to use to help you earn those extra points.

Go for the Gold

You can maximize your rewards from Bing Credits by achieving special status levels in the site's loyalty program.

After you've completed a welcome tour linked on the status levels page, earned at least 200 credits and cashed in your credits for at least one reward, you'll be eligible for Silver status and will get 50 bonus credits.

When you've earned 750 credits and perform at least 150 reward-eligible searches every month, you'll be granted Gold status, and you'll get a 10 percent discount when you trade in your credits for gift cards and other rewards.

Tell Your Friends

You can also earn up to 750 extra credits by inviting friends to Bing Rewards.

Visit the Share page to find buttons to share your personal referral code on Twitter and Facebook, and a link that you can share through text messaging, email or instant messaging.

For every friend who signs up and achieves Silver status, you'll earn an extra 150 credits, up to 750 total.

Trade In Your Credits

After you've earned enough credits, visit the Redeem page to trade them in for prizes like sweepstakes entries, gift cards to popular retailers and points in airline and hotel rewards programs.

If you prefer, you can also donate your points to one of several different charities.
