After it is opened through Internet Explorer or the Start screen, the Internet Options configuration panel lets you tweak major aspects in Internet Explorer, such as clearing website cookies, changing privacy and security settings, configuring connections and reverting to default browser settings. It cannot be used to change the settings on other Web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, so if you are using a different Web browser, you must open the settings configuration panel belonging to that particular Web browser.
On any open Internet Explorer window, press “Alt-X” and select “Internet Options” on the drop-down menu. On the Internet Options pop-up box that displays, click the tabs to browse through the configuration settings that Internet Explorer has to offer. Alternately, you can type “Internet Options” without quotes while on the Start screen and press “Enter” to access the Internet Options configuration panel even without having Internet Explorer opened.
Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox
On any Google Chrome window, click the button with three stacked lines and then select “Settings” on the drop-down menu. Google Chrome opens a new tab that displays the configuration options it has on offer. Click “Show Advanced Settings” to access additional settings. On Mozilla Firefox, press “Alt-T” and select "Options.” Similar to Internet Explorer, click the tabs on the pop-up box to browse through available settings.
