Picture-in-picture is the ability to display one signal on a television screen while displaying the feed from another signal on a smaller or adjacent window within the screen. Over-the-air signals would allow owners of a PIP enabled television to display two different channels. Sony television owners cannot display two channels from a cable or satellite set-top box, but they can display a television feed along with a feed from a computer or other media source.

Step 3

Turn on the Sony TV and press the "Source" button on the remote control. Scroll through the source options with the directional pad on the remote control until the source for the cable or satellite set-top box is highlighted. The source will vary depending upon which port you have chosen to connect the set-top box to the TV. Press "OK" in the center of the directional pad on the remote control to select the source.
