How to Mirror an Image in Adobe PDF

Create a mirror effect using Adobe Acrobat.

Adobe Acrobat is a comprehensive program used to create and edit Portable Document Format (PDF) files. Acrobat provides various editing tools allowing you to make changes to text and images embedded in the document. Any effects you want to apply to an image in a PDF should be done in an image editor, such as Photoshop, as Acrobat's image editing capabilities are limited. Acrobat can, however, do a simple mirror effect by flipping an image.

Step 1

Open Adobe Acrobat.

Step 2

Click "File," then "Open." Browse through your computer's files to select a PDF document that you want to open. Highlight the file and then click "Open."

Step 3

Click the "Tools" menu.

Step 4

Click "Advanced Editing." Select "TouchUp Object Tool." Your cursor will turn to a black arrow with a small box next to it.

Step 5

Click the image you want to mirror. A bounding box will appear around the image.

Step 6

Right-click the selection. Select "Flip Horizontal" to create a flipped, mirror effect of the image.

Step 7

Click the "File" menu and then "Save" to save the changes.

You also can choose “Flip Vertical” and the image will be flipped along the vertical axis. Press “Ctrl + Z” to undo any changes you make.
