How to Play "MapleStory" on a Mac

By Ray Padgett

For a long time, Mac users were unable to play role-playing games such as MapleStory. This game uses anime-style graphics in a fantasy world to let players battle and do business with peers. Now Mac users can finally participate. The company has still not released a stand-alone Mac product, but they have moved the game to the Internet, where Mac players can play and interact with PC players in the full game environment.

Step 1

Install Flash if you do not have it already (see Resources). While the PC stand-alone version is self-contained, you need Flash to play it online.

Step 2

Go to the MapleStory Online homepage (see Resources).

Step 3

Click "Sign Up, It's Free" under the "Start Now" button.

Step 4

Fill out the form to create your MapleStory account. You will have to select an account ID and password, and then enter your email, name, birthdate and gender. Type in the code below "Gender" to verify that you are human, and then tick the box marked "By checking this box I agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for Nexon.net." Click "Done" when you have finished.

Step 5

Return to the MapleStory Online homepage. Click the "Start Now" button.
