How to Reset a Charter Cable Box

From cable television to high-speed Internet service, Charter Cable offers a variety of residential and commercial communication services. One type of cable service offered by Charter Cable is the digital package that comes with a cable converter box which receives and processes the cable signal sent from Charter Cable to your television. Sometimes problems occur within your cable box and the box may not function correctly. You can reset the box to correct the problem.

Step 1

Turn off the cable box by pressing the power button on your cable box's remote control or the power button on the front of the cable box.

Unplug the power cord from the back of the cable box or the electrical outlet it is plugged into.

Step 3

Wait 15 seconds.

Step 4

Plug the power cord back into the cable box or electrical outlet.

Step 5

Turn on the cable box. The box will take a few minutes to start up. You will see the cable box's welcome screen on your television. The cable box is now reset.
