After 3,800 hours, a Mitsubishi projector will display a message warning you to replace its lamp. After 4,000 hours, the projector will shut off and will not turn on again. Replacing the lamp isn't enough. After installing a new lamp, you also have to reset the projector's lamp operation time in order to make it turn on again.

Step 1

Unplug the projector and replace the lamp following the instructions supplied by Mitsubishi.

Step 2

Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

Step 3

Turn the projector's main power switch on.

Step 4

Hold down the two arrow buttons and the Power button on the control panel at the same time for at least 3 seconds. The status indicator will blink twice, indicating that the lamp hour meter has been reset to zero.

Always reset the timer when you replace the lamp.

The lamp is fragile. If you break it, be careful not to cut yourself. The lamps contain mercury. Disposal of the lamp may be regulated by environmental laws.
