It has happened to all of us at some point - you've written down your password for either an online account or a hardware device, lost the piece of paper it was written on, and now can't access the information you need. In the case of a wireless modem, this is no big deal. You can easily reset a wireless modem back to its original factory settings, which will also reset whichever password you have assigned to it back to the default setting.

Turn your wireless modem around so that the back of the unit is facing you.
Locate the tiny, circular button that reads "Reset." This is the reset button, which is used only to restore the unit back to its original factory settings.
Use the tip of a pencil, a pen, a paper clip, or some other kind of small object to press and hold the "Reset" button. The button is too small to be pressed using your finger. Hold the "Reset" button down for 30 seconds and then release it. When you release the "Reset" button your password, as well as all of the other settings for your wireless modem, will have been reset to the factory defaults.
