How to Save iPhone Contacts
Both iTunes on your computer and your iPhone's iCloud feature have an option to save your iPhone contacts.
Your iPhone’s iCloud feature in iOS 8.3 can be set to save your contacts to your iCloud account. You need your Apple ID credentials and an active Wi-Fi or cellular data connection to use the feature. If you don't use iCloud, synchronize your iPhone with the desktop version of iTunes to save your contacts to your computer.
Save Your Contacts to iCloud
Open the Settings screen by tapping the Settings app on your iPhone Home screen. Scroll down the screen and tap iCloud to open the iCloud screen.
Enter your Apple ID username and password in the open fields and tap Sign In.
If you don't have an Apple ID, browse to the Create an Apple ID page to create one.
Tap Merge on the pop-up menu to upload your iPhone contacts to your iCloud account.
Tap OK on the pop-up box to activate the Find My iPhone feature, which can help you locate your iPhone if it is ever lost or stolen. If you don't want to use the feature, tap Don't Allow.
Tap the Contacts switch to the On position if it isn't already enabled.
Use your iPhone Contact app's Share Contact feature to export a contact's information in the vCard format. Open the Contacts app, tap the contact you want to send and then tap Share Contact.
Save Your Contacts Using iTunes
Connect your iPhone to your computer, launch iTunes 12 and wait for your iPhone to connect to the program. Click the iPhone icon at the upper left corner of the window to open the iPhone window and then click Info under Settings.
Download the latest version of iTunes from the Download iTunes page. If you already have the program, use the Check For Updates feature to see if you are running the latest version. Open iTunes, press Ctrl-B and then open the Help menu. Select Check For Updates from the menu and follow the directions.
Select the Sync Contacts With check box, click the drop-down menu box and then choose where your want to sync your contacts, such as Windows Contacts.
The iTunes program automatically recognizes any applicable program that can sync with your iPhone contacts -- such as Microsoft Outlook -- and displays that program as an option in the Sync Contacts With drop-down menu box.
Click the Apply button at the bottom right corner of the window to sync your contacts.
- The desktop version of iTunes is also capable of synchronizing with your iPhone over your Wi-Fi network. Connect your device to your PC with its USB cable and then click the iPhone icon to open the iPhone window. Click Summary under Settings in the window's right pane and then select the check box next to Sync With This iPhone Over Wi-Fi in the Options box. Click the Apply button. Your iPhone automatically appears in iTunes the next time your iPhone and computer are simultaneously connected to your wireless network.
- To automatically sync your contacts the next time your iPhone connects to iTunes, open the iPhone window in iTunes and then click Summary under Settings. Select the setting to automatically sync your iPhone when it connects to iTunes in the Options box and then click Apply
