Coiled phone cords were designed to allow the telephone receiver to extend a great distance without the need for long, unsightly cables. Unfortunately, after prolonged use the coils in the cord can get tangled and require straightening. This is a very simple task that can be completed in a few minutes and have your phone cord looking neat and tidy again.

Step 1

Work out which direction the curls in the cord go. This will vary from phone to phone depending on where you walk with the phone and which hand you hold the receiver in, along with other factors.

Step 2

Take the phone off the hook and hold the receiver firmly. Dropping the phone could result in damage which can only be fixed by buying a new phone.
