How to Transfer iPhone Photos to Thumb Drives

Apple's iPhone features a built-in digital camera. Photos are then automatically organized in the iPhone's Photos application. It is possible to sync the iPhone with iTunes on your computer and then transfer the photos from the Photos application to a photo-management program. Once the photos are on your computer, you can easily transfer the iPhone's photos to a thumb drive.

Things You'll Need

  • iTunes
  • iPhone data cable

Step 1

Attach the iPhone data cable to the bottom of your iPhone and connect the other end of the data cable to an available USB port on your computer.

Step 2

Open the iTunes program.

Step 3

Select your iPhone from the list of "Devices" on the left-hand side of the iTunes window.

Step 4

Click the "Photos" tab.

Step 5

Select the option "Sync Photos From" and choose whether to sync all photos or only photos in specific folders. Click the "Sync" button. Wait while iTunes syncs with your iPhone and copies the photos to your computer's photo-management program.

Step 6

Insert a thumb drive into an available USB port on your computer. Click the thumb drive's icon on your computer to open it.

Step 7

Open the photo-management program on your computer.

Step 8

Drag the photos you want to transfer from the photo-management program to the folder for the thumb drive.
