How to Use an SD Card for the Kindle

The Amazon Kindle is a portable electronic document reader. With the Kindle, users can save electronic copies of their favorite books, magazines or newspapers and read them anywhere. The files are stored on the Kindle's internal memory. If the Kindle's internal memory is full, you can insert a Secure Digital (SD) card to save additional files. The amount of extra memory you add to the device is dependent on the size of the SD card you purchase.

Step 3

Slide the SD card into the SD card slot with the label on the SD card facing up. It will click in place when it is properly inserted.
