If you know you have an MSN email account but have lost your email address or password, you might not be able to find it. However, you can follow several easy steps to try to recover and find your MSN email account. There are different steps to follow if you set up the account yourself or if someone, like a cable service provider, set up the account for you.

Step 1

Search through your desk to see if you wrote down your email address or information anywhere near your computer.

Step 2

Go into your secondary email account, if you have one. Search through this account and any other email accounts using the search feature and the terms "MSN email." Usually, when you set up an MSN email, MSN will ask you to provide another account, and will email your address to that account along with your password and other information.

Step 3

Go to the MSN email site, at www.hotmail.com, if you haven't found your information for your MSN email anywhere else.

Step 4

Click on "Forgot Password" underneath the log-in screen. On the next screen, you will see a link for "forgot log in." Click on that link.

Step 5

Input details as MSN asks for them. These might include your first and last name, and the answer to the secret question you used when setting up your account. If you are able to match your answers with what they have on file, they will send you your log-in and password information.

Set Up By Cable Provider

Step 1

Find your MSN email information that a cable provider set up for you by looking at the packet of information they left behind. It should list your new email address.

Step 2

Look at a copy of your bill. Sometimes, the email address is listed on the bill.

Step 3

Check your other email addresses if you have them. Search through your email in-box for an email from MSN telling you an account has been created.

Step 4

Call the cable company, or the MSN company, that set up your email address and tell them that you do not have that information. Technical support should have it on file.
