If you're reading this, you've probably had some sort of paranormal encounter in your lifetime. Or if you haven't, you'd like to. Ouija boards can only do so much (if anything at all) to help you reach spirits on the other side. And while there are a handful of insanely gifted and connected mediums you could talk to, they tend to charge an arm and a leg for a one-hour session.
So perhaps it's time to take matters into your own hands, by turning your ghost hunting goals into a reality. A slew of spirit-seeking apps exist to help the untrained ghost hunter find any existence of paranormal activity. If you're ready, check out these apps and go find yourself some spirits.
But proceed with caution. Ghosts are known to use electronics as a way of communication, but they don't know they're own strength. So if your phone spontaneously combusts, don't say we didn't warn you.
Ghost Radar: Classic
The most basic ghost tracking app you'll find. The app attempts to connect with any type of paranormal activity by making various readings on your device. By measuring quantum fluctuations, Ghost Radar analyzes the readings and gives indications only when interesting patterns in the readings have been made.
Ghost Radar doesn't just let you know when you're in the presence of ghost—it can even communicate with it.
Video of the Day
Ghost Locator does exactly what its name implies—it locates ghosts. The detection method it uses dates back to the Middle Ages, according to the app. Once the reading is complete, it'll give you some pretty detailed information about the ghost in your presence—including the name, age, date of death and cause of death.
The intent of Ghost Locator claims to strictly be for entertainment purposes, but hey, you never know.
Free for iOS.
You are Haunted: SpectreCam
You are Haunted: SpectreCam provides proof that ghosts are real—if you believe the proof, that is. Through the app, you can take photos, search them for paranormal manifestations and then share your findings.
As the app expresses, "Be warned...you did not find the SpectreCam by accident or by chance. It found you."
$1.99 on iOS.
Ghost Detect Pro
Ghost Detect Pro is for expert ghost seekers, or at least people who think they're experts. The information and data it delivers is a lot to interpret, but can be done with enough time and patience. Using a quantum flux detector, it takes photos and detects anomalies and orbs within them.
Various colors on the device sensor graph indicate any changes in the magnetic field. While this app is also intended for entertainment purposes, the EMF detector and audio recordings work well. And one reviewer wrote that he captured the same photo on his camera when taking a picture simultaneously with the app. So whether you believe or not, well, that's your call.
$0.99 on iOS.
