SmartScreen Filter is an Internet Explorer security feature that helps protect you from phishing websites that attempt to steal personal information. Once enabled, it refers to a list of reported phishing and malicious software sites and displays alerts of potentially dangerous websites before you visit them. If the SmartScreen Filter is blocking access to websites you know are not dangerous, disable it quickly and re-enable it when you want.
Click the "Start" button, type "Internet Explorer" (without quotes) in the search box, and click "Internet Explorer" in the window to launch your browser.
Click the "Safety" button and point to "SmartScreen Filter." A new submenu launches.
Click "Turn off SmartScreen Filter" and then click "OK" in the "Microsoft SmartScreen Filter" dialog box to confirm your selection.
