How to Clear Google Chrome Cache

Clear your Google Chrome cache in the Privacy section of your Settings page. This is also where you clear your browsing history and cookies.

Click the Chrome menu icon in the top left corner, which appears as three horizontal bars. Click Settings.

Click Show Advanced Settings.

Click Clear Browsing Data to clear all cached images and files.

Here, you can clear your cached images and files, as well as browser history, download history, and cookies and other site and plugin data. Select the items you want to delete and click Clear Browsing Data.


The cache is stored on your computer's hard drive, and when too many items are in the folder, this can cause your computer to run slow. Information stored in your cache can also be outdated or corrupted and cause issues loading certain pages.
