The Bose Companion 3 system is a 2.1 audio speaker system built for multimedia and computer use. However, it's well suited for use as a speaker system for televisions when you want better sound using a compact speaker system. Bose systems are designed to be set up by the average user, and the Companion 3 is no different. You'll need one additional cable, and the rest of the system will work with your television right out of the box.
Step 1
Place the Acoustimass module, the large box in the system, underneath or to the side of the television. Plug the module's power cord into a wall outlet or power strip.

Step 2
Plug the end of the cable attached to the Control Pod into the dedicated jack on the back of the module. The plug is specific to the pod as it will only fit into one jack on the module.
Step 3
Plug the end of the cable attached to the left speaker into the jack marked "left speaker" on the back of the module. Plug the end of the cable attached to the right speaker into the jack marked "right speaker" on the back of the module. Place the speakers, one on either side of the television.
Step 4
Plug the RCA jacks of your adapter cable into the Audio Out of your television, located on the rear panel. Plug one end of the computer input cable into the other end of the adapter cable. Plug the other end of the computer input cable into the Input from computer jack on the back of the device.
