For many computer users, keeping up with an ever-lengthening list of user names and passwords for websites and programs is becoming difficult. For many websites, however, recent Windows browsers such as Internet Explorer display a prompt, offering to remember your user name and password. When you allow these prompts to remember your passwords, you are storing them on your computer, and you can find them easily when needed.
Open the "Tools" menu on your Internet browsing application and click on the "Options" tab.

Click the "Security" tab in the "Options" menu.
Click "Saved Passwords" in your "Options" menu, and click "Show Passwords." Click "OK" on the warning box, and your passwords will be presented with their corresponding websites.
In Firefox and similar browsers on a Windows computer, click on "Options," then "Security," then "Saved Passwords." You can access similar menu options on a Macintosh computer under the "Preferences" pane in your browser.
