Thankfully, in both Windows and Mac operating systems, it is simple to use adjust the settings for your microphone and make it louder.

Increasing Microphone Volume on a PC

Step 1

Click on "Start" and then select "Control Panel." Next click on "Sounds and Audio Devices."

Click on the "Audio" tab in the "Sounds and Audio Devices" window.

Click on "Volume" in the "Sound Recording" section. A "Recording Control" window will pop up.

Drag the slider up in the "Mic Volume" section of the "Recording Control" window.

Click the "Advanced" button at the bottom of the "Mic Volume" section. Check the box marked "Microphone Boost" to increase the volume further.
