Increasing Microphone Volume on a PC

Step

Click on “Start” and then select “Control Panel.” Next click on “Sounds and Audio Devices.”

Click on the “Audio” tab in the “Sounds and Audio Devices” window.

Step

Click on “Volume” in the “Sound Recording” section. A “Recording Control” window will pop up.

Drag the slider up in the “Mic Volume” section of the “Recording Control” window.

Click the “Advanced” button at the bottom of the “Mic Volume” section. Check the box marked “Microphone Boost” to increase the volume further.

Speak into your microphone and make a sample recording to make sure that the volume is at your desired level.

Choose "System Preferences" from the Apple menu.

Click on the "Sound" icon.

Click on the tab labeled "Input"

Drag the input volume slider to the right to increase volume.
