How to Reset a Dell Color Monitor

Dell color monitors come equipped with a built-in feature that allows you to reset the monitor to its original factory settings. This can fix problems like wavy lines and screen sizes and colors that are off.

Step 1

Push the "Menu" button on the front or side of your Dell monitor. The button's icon resembles a miniature monitor. This will open the main monitor setting menu. Push the button again to exit the main menu and open the OSD menu.

Push the "Down Arrow" button on the monitor to scroll through the OSD menu. Stop at "Factory Reset." Push the "Menu" button to open the factory reset menu.

Step 3

Push the "Down Arrow" button to select "Position Settings Only" to reset the monitor's horizontal and vertical screen settings. Press the "Menu" button to activate the setting changes.
